Harvest Collection at Greet Primary School on Tuesday 5 April 2011 |

Today, Ladywood Foodbank have the great privilege of having been contacted by Mr Matthew Haydon, a Year 4 School Teacher at Greet Primary School, Percy Road, Sparkhill in Birmingham, who expressed an interest in donating food to our Foodbank. Mr Haydon informed us that the children at Greet Primary School were having an assembly on Harvests. The children who took part in this assembly were between the ages of 7 to 10 years. We bought to their attention that there are lots of people and families who cannot afford to buy their most basic of food items because of their personal circumstances. We also informed them that the Ladywood area in particular was the poorest area in England and that their kind donation of food would greatly benefit those families. The children’s assembly was on Harvests around the world and what a lovely assembly it was too! There was lots of music and singing and you could see the children enjoyed taking part in this assembly. They were so confident and very talented. There were lots of smiling faces! We thoroughly enjoyed being there too! We expressed our sincere thanks and gratitude to the Headteacher, to Mr Hayden and of course to all the wonderful children who attend Greet Primary School for their kind and generous donation. We hope that you will all continue to set a good example to all other school children in drawing their attention to how important it is to help others in their hour of need. Well Done From the Ladywood Foodbank Team – “Labour of Love” Letter to ladywood foodbank from Greet School
